The Hives announce first album since 2012

The world's favourite live band The Hives have announced surprise news of a new album, their first in a mind-blowing 11 years! Titled The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons, the new LP from the Swedish punk rock legends will grace our ears on 11th August following a string of UK dates including stadiums with Arctic Monkeys.

After a decade of coming to the UK for their notoriously raucous festival slots and some massive support tours, it was no surprise to see The Hives opening for Arctic Monkeys this June, on what looks set to be the biggest tour of the summer. Yet, after plenty of teasing on social media, a new album has finally materialised - and the UK may be some of the first to hear it.

Sandwiched between venues like Old Trafford and Hillsborough Park, The Hives will play some intimate in-store dates to celebrate the record and hopefully showcase some new material. 'Bogus Operandi' is our first taster of the album, with a masterclass in riffage reminiscent of The Hives' earliest material - a true homage to their roots.

You can view the full list of new out-store dates below:

Tue 30th May - Bristol, The Fleece

Tue 6th June - Kingston, PRYZM

Tue 13th June - London, The Garage

Thu 22nd June - Nottingham, Rescue Rooms
