Songs I Want To Hear At Limp Bizkit This Sunday

Limp Bizkit are rollin' back into the UK in a matter of days, to headline their biggest UK show to date at London's Gunnersbury Park. They're bringing along a stacked undercard filled with some of the best rap and metal cross overs around right now. Deijuvhs (who we spoke to at The Great Escape) is opening up the day followed by the fast rising Joey Valence & Brae, Travis Barker associate KennyHoopla and finally the almighty Pendulum prepping the crowd for the dulcet tones of Fred Durst.

As the show is only a matter of days away, I'm beginning to hop back on the Limp Bizkit hype train and gas myself up for the comeback I didn't know I needed. Let's get stuck into the songs I'm excited to see this Sunday!

1. Limp Bizkit - Counterfeit

THIS IS THE BEST LIMP BIZKIT SONG. Distilled down, everything that bangs about the Bizkit is presented here. Massive Wes Borland shaped riffs alongside both extreme ends of Fred Durst's style, with one of his shoutiest choruses and bridges as well as a strangely funky verse this tune just has it all. I saw the band at Wembley Arena in April and although the setlist was excellent, they didn't play this. I'll die a happy man if I get to mosh to this on Sunday.

2. Joey Valence & Brae - Punk Tactics

Obviously this list couldn't be entirely Limp Bizkit songs, and there is no one song on the undercard with more live potential than Punk Tactics by JV&B. The energy is through the roof on this tune, with the in your face delivery and massive boom bap beats. These guys are certainly a duo to watch after their recent string of banging singles. I can't wait to see how they take to a big stage and a Limp Bizkit crowd.

3. Deijuvhs - Demunya

Deijuvhs is obviously doing some true blue nu-metal right now (and has achieved the mighty co-sign), but on his last project we had some cool punky glitchiness exemplified no better than on my favourite of his songs, 'Demunya.' It's catchy, bouncy, punchy, groovy and an all round banger.

4. Limp Bizkit - Ready To Go

Back to the Bizkit now for one of their most stupid songs 'Ready to Go', featuring Lil Wayne . The riff goes stupidly hard, and despite some questionable lyrics, I still love it in a goofy way. I still haven't worked out what the album cover was going for, but hey - Limp Bizkit covers are always a bit of a left hook.

5. Limp Bizkit - Faith

I know it isn't going to happen, but a man can dream. In 1997 Limp Bizkit covered George Michael's 'Faith' and it is the greatest musical achievement in the history of man kind. It has no right to go as hard as it does. It's bombastic, unique and we will most certainly never hear anything else quite like it. Easily one of the most fun 'pop goes metal' covers of all time, it would be a beautiful day getting to see this live.

Tickets for Limp Bizkit at Gunnersbury Park are still available to buy here.
