Softcult announce UK tour and share 'dress'

TW: Sexual Assualt

Canadian shoegaze duo Softcult have today unveiled their first single of 2023 'dress', which comes with the exciting news of a UK headline tour for April 2023.

'dress' is a heavy-hitting song that deals with the permanent effects of trauma and emptiness experienced off the back of sexual assault and male predatory behaviour that is still, sadly, far too common. It's a vital message of solidarity to others coping with similar experiences, whilst also serving as a way to confront abusers: "I'll never feel the same again".

The upbeat, layered guitar work is a complex juxtaposition, making 'dress' the most profound song we've seen from Softcult so far. Their EP See You In The Dark arrives 24th March, and you can pre-order it here.

Softcult's UK tour includes shows at Brighton's Prince Albert and Nottingham's Bodega, and support comes from Scottish rockers swim school. Tickets go on sale here on Friday at 10am, and you can view the full list of UK dates below.
