Catfish and the Bottlemen's former guitarist Johnny "Bondy" Bond has shared details of his new project called THE SAFEST PLACE.
Since his departure from the indie titans in March 2021 due to 'dysfunctional relationships', a future for Catfish and the Bottlemen seems unlikely. Yet, Bondy confirmed in his statement - which followed in June 2022 - that he'd been working on new material, much to the delight of his loyal fans.
Bondy is highly regarded as the shining star of the Bottlemen's sound, pioneering a colossal lead guitar tone that dominated their festival headline sets. From the soaring solo in 'Anything' to the blended lead tones of '7', fans can hope to see more of his guitar wizardry on THE SAFEST PLACE - though it is unknown what sonic direction this project will take at this stage.
Nearly a year later, Bondy has finally shared the title of this project, as THE SAFEST PLACE, which appears to be a band or collective - with Bondy promising "music from us will follow real shortly" via his personal Instagram account.
