Brighton's own Squid announce second album and drop new tune "Swing (In A Dream)"

When Squid dropped "Houseplants" in 2019 it thrust them straight into the limelight of the burgeoning UK post-punk scene with bands like Shame, Idles, Black Country New Road and Black Midi. They maintained momentum with the subsequent releases of the Town Centre EP and the Sludge/Broadcaster single. Then came Bright Green Field (which reached #4 in the UK album chart). One of the most explosive and exciting debuts of the last five years. Featuring bangers such as "Narrator" and "Paddling" it was great to hear them take on the task of a full length with their signature bombastic style.

And now the time has come for their new record.... O Monolith.

The new album will be dropping on June 9th 2023 via the legendary Warp Records. To announce the record we also got our first taste in the form of "Swing (In A Dream)" which is by all accounts a quintessentially Squid track with its angular, layered guitars and bass merged with noisy electronics however it has a decidedly new flair to it, unlike anything the band has put out thus far. It's one of the most essential tracks of the week by one of the most essential bands of the decade. Check out the new song here.

Squid also blessed us with news of a headline tour hitting cities across the UK at the back end of this year. You can find details here.
